I figure we should start this thing properly. You can't very well enjoy the rantings of my alters if you have no idea who they are.
Amanda:
Quite simply and literally, she is me. If further explanation is needed then you are an idiot. Period.
Susie Sunshine:
Susie works for an up and coming airline as a reservation agent and has for the past 2 years. The job is the center of her life, the only thing she feels she truly excels at. Her job pays fairly well and affords her benefits she can't really get in any other job at the moment, which includes free travel and she gets to work from home. Susie is up-beat, smart, patient, and extremely well-versed in all areas of her job requirements. She is very, very, VERY good at what she does. When you call any customer service line, she is the person you pray to get. She is the ideal employee and she knows it. Doing her best to answer each and every call with a smile on her face, Susie really is the ultimate machine. She has her job down to an exact science, able to predict almost every possible issue that can come up in a call, she never misses a beat. She is always cool, calm, and collected, and has never even slightly lost her temper while working. To her, a job well-done is worth almost everything.
Susie has a big secret. Underneath it all, she absolutely fucking hates everyone! Despite her sunny demeanor and kind voice, day in and day out she is insulted and treated as if she is incompitent by complete strangers whom just can't have everything they want. Susie hates these people. On a somewhat subconscious, but nontheless, very real level, she would love nothing more than to sit atop a tall building with a sniper rifle, picking off the lousy sons-a-bitches one by one.
No one will ever find out about Susie's secret, though. Ever. She is a master of her craft. Even if she were to tell that bitchy old woman who insists she should get a refund on a flight she took years ago because her husband just died 3 weeks ago to "get the fuck over it and to stop wasting my time!" (although, I must stress that she NEVER would under any circumstances), she would do so in such a beautifully sweet tone that she would still leave the old bitty convinced the sun was shining brightly out of her ass.
How does she do it? How does she maintain such a facade of perfection despite a very dark, twisted, and exteremly violent mind? The key to her success is her voice. She makes even the very best Stepford wife sound like a smoker with an electronic voice box.
Lacey:
Lacey has been very sick for a very long. The product of an unforgiving world, she started losing her mind a long time ago. Abandoned by her father and mistreated by her mother, she is concvinced that anyone who loves her will hurt her. Yet she wants nothing more than to be loved. In her broken mind, pain is love. If it doesn't hurt, it isn't real.
Having been in and out of psychiatric hospitals almost her entire life, she constantly lives her life as if she is in a padded room. She does not look before she leaps, she does not think before she speaks. She has been taught over and over again that nothing ever really works out. Therefore, she lives mostly without regret. Having survived things she knows most people never would, she feels alienated. She is alone. She has gone to the limits of life, in almost every way. She has experienced more pain than anyone could ever imagine. And she is still here. Because of this, she fears almost nothing.
More times than not, Lacey makes no sense at all to anyone. She prefers it that way. She would rather people see her as a big fat question mark, rather than try to lable and force her into boxes she never has and never will fit into.
She lacks balance. Lacey either hates something, or loves something, with no room for in-betweens. She hates many things, most of all herself. She hates couples in love and happy families. She loathes women to the point where if she had the chance to not be one, she would take it. She hates being controlled. She hates making plans.
Lacey has really only wanted one thing her entire life. To be loved entirely by someone. During one of her hospital stays when she was 17, she heard it mentioned that she exhibited the symptoms of someone suffering from the Elektra Complex. Always looking for the father-figure she never had in any man she desires. And if she does desire you, may God help you. She has never loved a man she didn't destroy in the end.
Nina:
Nina always has been and always will be young at heart. She lives and loves as if she it is the first time, every time. No need for drugs or temporary escapes. She lives in this moment.
She is a geek. Through and through. Music, movies, books...these things really do matter to her. And make her happy. Really. She has been known to go to concerts alone, simply for the experience. She feels more at home in the back row of a dark theater, at the very front of a show pressed up against the barricade amidst a raging sea of fans, or staring into the abyss of words found in the best book than anywhere else on this planet.
She craves an adventure above all things. Constantly looking for that new opprtunity to be introduced to this great big world. Nina is a gyspsy of sorts. Following the wind if it blows in a direction that feels good to her.
Always willing to meet new people, she is one friendly kid. She sees the good in just about anyone, making it easy for her to get along with everyone. Regardless of where you come from or the life you choose to live, if you can carry on a great conversation, Nina will talk with you for hours on end if you let her. She expects nothing of you, and really doesn't care what you expect of her. She believes in herself, therefore doesn't need you to.
Any post you read on this blog will be written by at least one of these characters. And I reserve the right to introduce someone new to the group any time I damn well please. Keep in mind I am not writing this blog for you. I am writing it for me. It is a place for me to purge all my thoughts, no matter how horrible or absurd. I most likely will never truly mean what I write. And in an attempt to be less of a mystery to my own friends, I am allowing some of you to read it. I make no guarentees you will understand or even like it, and I make no appologies if you don't. All I ask is that if you ever have a real problem with what I write, rather than judging me, just stop reading this blog. Simple as that.
